Dr. Mundy

Burlington-Dr. Donald "Don" Ashford Mundy, 75, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at the hospice home. He was born in Calgary in Alberta, Canada to the late Reginald William Mundy and Olive Grace Walters Mundy. He was the husband of 48 years to Diane Jean Mundy who survives.
Dr. Mundy retired after 31 years with Burlington Anesthesiology. He received his Medical Degree from the University of Alberta and did his residency at Duke University. Dr. Mundy was a member of Hillside Presbyterian Church where he served as an Elder for 40 years. Dr. Mundy was a member of the Alamance Men's Garden Club. He enjoyed going on mission trips and especially going to the country of Haiti. He was an avid Duke fan and enjoyed sailing and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife of the home, Diane Jean Mundy; daughters, Jodi Mundy of Burlington and Tiffany Joy Roberts and husband, Michael of Burlington; son, Jonathan Todd Mundy and wife, Laurie Leigh of Graham; grandchildren, Jessica Lauren O'Donnel and husband, Philip Michael; Justin Matthew Heritage and fiancée, Erika Gayle Baldwin, Macy Elise Roberts, Jack Harrison Mundy, Savannah Grace Roberts, Charles Jonathan Mundy, Trey Graham, Michael Ashford Roberts, Ellianna Alise Mundy; great grandchildren, Jaxon Wyatt O'Donnel, Mason Grey O'Donnel and Franklin Levi Heritage; sister, Melody Mundy McCaughey of Calgary. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Keith Reginald Mundy and sister, Heather Mundy.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Hospice for their compassionate care for Dr. Mundy and his family.
A service to celebrate his life will be held on Sunday, June 3, 2018 at 3:00 PM at St. Marks Church by Rev. Bill Prince and assisted by Rev. Joseph Williams. The burial will follow at Magnolia Cemetery in Elon. The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM on Saturday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the residence.
