Dr. Dana Burns Morris, 69, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 11, 2015. She was the daughter of the late James S. Burns, Jr. and the late Jewel Hanford Burns. Dana was married to the late Theodore Ted "Bug" Gibbons Morris. She was a member of Burlington Assembly of God, was an ordained minister and earned a doctorate in theology. Dana had an active leadership role at Calvary International "Go To Nations" in Jacksonville, FL and her service and teachings touched countless lives throughout her life. She wrote numerous prayer manuals, was involved with the prison ministries, the homeless and every aspect of ministry that she could get connected to affect a change in the earth. She is survived by her son, Bill Stacy Thomas of Lawrenceville, GA; seventeen grandchildren; sisters, Sybil Garner and Karen Robertson, both of Burlington and a brother, Jimmy Burns of Burlington. She was well loved by her family including several cousins, nieces and nephews, and a host of church family in both Florida and North Carolina. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and a sister, Carolyn B. Lea. The funeral will be held at 11:00 AM Monday at Burlington Assembly of God by Pastors, Howard Thompson and Bryan Rainbow with interment to follow at Pine Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church and other times at the home. The family requests donations be made to The Caring Kitchen of Burlington Assembly of God, a feeding ministry for those in need.
