Douglas Adair Williams, 71, passed away on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at Alamance Regional Medical Center. He was born in Anderson, IN, on June 11, 1953, to the late Robert Ammanuel Williams and Norma Jean Sexton Williams and was the husband of 37 years to Marla Ritchie Williams.

Doug was a man of many passions and talents. He was a zero-handicap golfer who could always be found perfecting his swing on the tees. His love for music was evident in his skill as an experienced drummer, which brought joy to his family and friends. Doug was a devoted family man, cherishing every moment spent with his loved ones. His enthusiasm for cars was matched by his appreciation for art, and he was known for his keen sense of fashion.

Professionally, Doug had a distinguished career as a manufacturing engineer for General Motors and later as a refractory engineer at Alcoa/Permatech. His expertise and dedication to his work earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues.

He is survived by his wife Marla and children; Jabin Pipoli, Amber Davis (Ryan), Brian Williams (Sharon), Megan Kodetsky (Richard), and Nicklaus Williams (Ashley); grandchildren, Ava Davis (14), Zoe Davis (11), Justin Williams (13), Layla Williams (9), and Waverly Kodetsky (4); and brothers, Christopher Williams and Gregory Williams. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Jeffrey Williams.

For his final day of rest, Doug will be donning the attire chosen for his son Nicklaus's upcoming nuptials on August 2nd, a testament to his enduring love for his family and his desire to be part of this special day.

A service to celebrate Doug’s life will be held at 4:00 PM on Sunday, June 30, 2024, at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel in Burlington NC by Pastor Darrell Massey. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:45 PM on Sunday at the funeral home and other times at the residence. The burial will be held at 10:30AM on Monday, July 1st at Alamance Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the North Carolina Junior Golf Association (info@jrgolf.com), The Farm for patient and family assistance through the UNC Health Foundation or Women’s Resource Center of Alamance County.
