Ken Farlow of 3002 Saint George Court, Burlington, slipped peacefully into the presence of his Savior Jesus Christ Wednesday morning, March 10, 2010, at 3:15 am at the UNC North Carolina Cancer Hospital in Chapel Hill following seven months of declining health He is survived by his wife, soulmate and best friend, Sara Yarbro Farlow of the home, and was the son of Mrs. Della Payne Farlow of High Point, and the late Houston K. Farlow. Mr. Farlow, a native of High Point, North Carolina, graduated from High Point Central High School, High Point, NC and attended Western Carolina University, Cullowhee, NC. He retired from Nabisco Foods in March, 1997, with 30 years service. He was currently employed as a Service Rep with LabCorp, Burlington, NC. Mr. Farlow was a member of Holly Hill Baptist Church, Burlington, NC, where he was a member of the Properties Committee. He had served as a deacon, a member of the Personnel Committee, and had been a member of the adult choir. Survivors other than his wife and mother include two daughters, Lisa Farlow Wilson Mike and Cindy Farlow Nason Shawn, both of Mebane, and son, Jeffrey Kyle Doss of Durham, NC; sister, Teresa Farlow McRae Tom of Emerald Isle, NC, three brothers, Don Farlow Marlene and Keith Farlow Donna of High Point and Richard Farlow Lori of Thomasville, NC; and four grandchildren, Billy Owens, Taylor Wilson, Madison Nason of Mebane and Jordan Wilson of Graham. Mr. Farlow was a caring, compassionate man who never met a stranger and loved life. He was an avid Carolina Tarheels fan and enjoyed the North Carolina mountains.. A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 13, 2010 at Holly Hill Baptist Church with Pastor Mark White, Rev. Everett Rumley, and the Rev. Ellis Rouse officiating. Interment will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 6-9 p.m. Friday, March 12, 2010 at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Loaves and Fishes 509 S Lexington Ave, Burlington, NC 27215; Holly Hill Baptist Church 2818 Edgewood Ave, Burlington, NC 27215; or to Hospice of Alamance Caswell 914 Chapel Hill Rd.
