Dottie Roupas

Dottie Haywood Roupas passed away peacefully with family by her side September 29, 2014, at the age of 86. She was the loving wife of and predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Thomas F. Roupas, Sr. and the loving mother of her children, Eva Roupas Melatti Bobby, Nicki Roupas Remley, Thomas F. Roupas, Jr. Shelley and the beloved granny to her grandchildren, Michael Thomas Remley Meredith, Shannon Haywood Remley, Thomas Frank Roupas III, and David James Roupas. Also surviving are two loving sisters-in-law, Bertha Rosson and Lee Strautin, and other dear family and friends. Dottie was born May 21, 1928 in Ivel, Kentucky to Bertie Reeves Haywood and Arthur Curn Haywood. She graduated from nursing school and worked as a nurse for 8 years before marrying the love of her life, Thomas F. Roupas, Sr. She was a loving and dedicated wife, mother and grandmother, and her greatest priority was her family. Dottie will especially be remembered for her kind spirit, loving nature, and devotion to family and friends. Her funeral will be held at 1:30 pm on Saturday October 4th at the Twin Lakes Community Chapel, 3701 Wade Coble Drive, Burlington, NC with a reception immediately following at the Pepper Tree. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to American Cancer Society or Alzheimer's Association.
