Dorothy "Dot" Rice

Burlington – Dorothy “Dot” Underwood Rice, 92 went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, August 4, 2020 at The Oakes. She was born in Rockingham County to the late William Holt and Selena Huldah Walker Underwood. She was the wife of the late David Wyatt Rice

Dot worked for many years with Royal Hosiery and was a member of Bush Arbor Primitive Baptist Church. She enjoyed artwork especially sketching and painting. Dot also worked with ceramics. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

She is survived by her daughters, Peggy Joines of Burlington and Wanda (Gary) Mitchell of Archdale; grandchildren, Courtney (Scott) Lawson, Lauren (Joe Tocchio) Mitchell, Matthew Mitchell, Christopher (Jennifer) Joines and Melinda (Ryan) Anderson; 7 great grandchildren; brothers, Paul (Tillie) Underwood and David Underwood both of Caswell County. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents; sister Grey Miles and Lois Minson; brothers, Homer, Horace and Wallace Underwood.

A graveside Service will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, August 6, 2020 at Bush Arbor Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery by Pastor David Winstead.
