Dorothy Warwick

Sanford, NC Dorothy Sasser Bengel Warwick, age 82 passed away on Monday, March 3, 2014 at the Alamance Hospice Home one day before her birthday. She is a native of New Bern, NC, a longtime residence of Carolina Trace and wife of the late Admiral William B. Warwick. Dorothy was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her sons, Audrey Leonard "Butch" Bengel III of Gypsum, Colorado, David Allen Bengel and wife, Debra of Pineville and Kevin Bengel and wife, Vivian of Elon; grandchildren, Misha Bender of Wichita, KS, Kate and Quentin Bengel of Memphis, TN Quentin now lives in Alabama, Geoffrey and Stephen Bengel of Elon Stephen now lives in Irongate, NC; sisters, Betsy Davis and husband, Robert of New Bern, NC, Becky Hedrick and husband, Frank of Navarre, FL; brothers, Robert H. Sasser and wife, Catherine of Pinehurst, NC, Douglas Sasser and wife, Martha Kay and David Sasser and wife, Deborah both of Raleigh. Dorothy was preceded in death by her former husband, Audrey Leonard Bengel II and husband, Admiral William B. Warwick; parents, Harrison and Earl Smith Sasser. A service to celebrate her life will be held on Sunday, March 9 at Grace Community Church at 1:00 PM 6561 Meridian Dr, Raleigh. She will be laid to rest in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
