Burlington Dorothy Alene Stout Rosencrans, age 86, of 476 Parkview Dr. Burlington, formerly of Graham, passed away Monday June 30, 2008 at Alamance Health Care following a courageous battle with cancer. A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late Norman Louis Rosencrans and the daughter of the late Elvin Moody and Beulah Whiteley Stout. She was a member of Glen Hope Baptist Church. During her career she was employed by Western Electric, was a switchboard operator at Alamance County Hospital and later retired from Olympic Narrow Fabrics. Survivors include her daughter, Tina Rosencrans of the home; sons, Maurice Tippett and wife Sue of Haw River and Dean Tippett of Swepsonville; granddaughter, Carren Bolick and husband Todd; great grandson Travis Bolick and her sister, Sylvia Harbin and husband Roy of Carthage. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sister, Julia Barnwell and 3 brothers, Cecil Stout, Clinton Stout and Wayne Stout. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday July 3, 2008 from the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Dr. Dale Steele. Interment will follow in Alamance Memorial Park. Mrs. Rosencrans will remain at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory through the funeral service. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 PM Wednesday and at other times at the home of Carren Bolick; 813 N. Gurney St., Burlington.
