Dorothy Ritchie

Mebane Dorothy Douglas "Dot" Ritchie, 87 went home to be with the Lord on Friday, December 06, 2013 at Hawfields Presbyterian Home after 3 months of failing health. She was born in Orange County to the late William George Douglas and the late Addie Riley Douglas and was married to the late Sebastian Albert Ritchie for 49 years. Dot retired from the Alamance-Burlington School System in the cafeteria at R. Homer Andrews Elementary School. She was a former daycare worker with Walker Daycare and Colonial Daycare. She was a member at Trinity Worship Center. Survivors include many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents; sisters, Minnie Pendergrass, Fannie Andrews, Ethel Gates, Mary Layton and Stella White; brothers, Frank, James, William and Edward Douglas. The memorial service will be held 11:00am Monday, December 9, 2013 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Cecil Coates. There will be a reception following the service for family and friends.
