Dorothy Wurtzer Pope

Dorothy Louise Wurtzer Pope, 87, passed away on Tuesday, October 15, 2024 at Ashton Place. She was born in Baltimore, Maryland on June 19, 1937 to the late Jerry Charles and Mary Cecila Bushman Wurtzer. She was the wife of the late Willis Henderson Pope who died in 2007.

 Dorothy retired after 22 and half years from Essex Community College. She was of the Catholic faith and enjoyed gardening and traveling. She was a loving and devoted, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

 Dorothy is survived by her children, Rickey Pope and wife, Suenette of Baltimore, Maryland, Rebecca Fierschnaller and husband, Allan of Greensboro, North Carolina, Donna Pope of Burlington, North Carolina, Laurie Fiorilli of Denver, North Carolina, Susan Denker and husband, Fred of Palm Coast, Florida and Randy Pope and wife, Janet of Baltimore, Maryland; 12 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren; her sister, Ann Patrick and husband, David of Lisbon, Maryland and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sisters, Mary Farinholt and Betty Dietrich; her brother, Charles Wurtzer.
