Dorothy Phillippie

Graham Dorothy Shaw Phillippie, 82, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 27, 2015 at her home. She was born in Johnston County on November 8, 1933 to the late John Daniel and Mildred Baker Shaw and was the wife of 65 years to Archie Ray Phillippie of the home. Dorothy was a Charter member of Baptist Temple Church and most recently a longtime member of Hico Baptist Church where she was responsible for arranging flowers and decorating. She was a loving wife, mother and gram gram who enjoyed spending time with her family. She is survived by her husband, Archie; son, Mark Phillippie and wife Ann of Graham; grandson, Kevin Phillippie of Raleigh; brother, Tim Shaw and wife Betty of Sanford and sister, Linda Langslow of Newport News, VA. She was preceded in death by her parents. A service to celebrate her life will be held 1:00PM, Thursday, December 31, 2015 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor David Mros with the burial to follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home and other times at the home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hico Baptist Church at 4253 NC-87, Graham, NC 27253.
