Burlington - Dorothy Ann Webster Payne, 77, passed away Friday, August 4, 2017 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born in Caswell County on August 19, 1939 to the late Arthur Jackson Webster and Margaret Pauline Pleasant Webster and was the wife to Levi Bennie Payne, Jr. of 54 years who survives.
Dorothy was a homemaker and a member of The Church of the Latter Day Saints, Burlington Ward, where she faithfully served in various positions. She was the valedictorian and the class president of her 1957 graduating class from Haw River High School. Dorothy was a wonderful and caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend who will be dearly missed.
Survivors other than her husband, Bennie Payne includes her sons and daughters-in-law, Loryn and Nicolle Payne, Lyle and Lori Payne; a daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Tim Thomas; her grandchildren that she adored, James Thomas, Matt Thomas, Andrew Thomas, Lindsey Payne, Landon Payne, Levi Payne, Logan Payne, Stephen Payne and Christopher Payne; brother and sister-in-law, Jeff and Jackie Webster and a nephew, Robert Webster.
The graveside service will be held at 2:00PM Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at Alamance Memorial Park by Bishop Todd Coleman. There will not be a visitation but the family will be at the home.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215.
