Dorothy Lundy

Mrs. Dorothy Marie Longyear Lundy, 76, of Chapel Hill, died Tuesday, July 8, 2008 at UNC Hospitals after a brief illness. Born in Syracuse, NY, she was the daughter of the late George Longyear and the late Charlotte Woods Longyear. She was retired from Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, NY with over 20 years service and was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church in Hillsborough. Mrs. Lundy is survived by two daughters, Ruth Lundy of Mebane and Charlene Lundy of Delta Junction, Alaska; a son, John Lundy and his wife, Lisa, of Haw River; two grandchildren, Sara Lundy and Michael Lundy and his wife, Trista; and two great grandchildren, Caden Lundy and Karleigh Lundy. A memorial mass will be conducted at 6:00 PM Thursday, July 10, 2008 at the Holy Family Catholic Church by Father Tom Tully. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory is serving the Lundy family.
