Dorothy "Dot" Wheeler Poole

   Dot worked at Bellsouth (AT&T) as a telephone operator for many years and was of the Baptist faith.  She enjoyed cooking, sewing and flower gardening.  Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, namely her grandchildren, taking care of her great grandson, Bransen over the past several years.

   She is survived by her daughters, Deborah Burgess and husband Brian, Corliss Meadows and husband Wayne; son, Anthony Poole and wife Cindy; nine grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren; a brother, Donald Wheeler, Jr. and three nieces.  She was preceded in death by her husband, parents; son, Arnold Poole; sisters, Shirley Leonard, Patricia Willets, Peggy Porterfield; nephew, Ronnie Hogan and niece, Patricia Porterfield.

   A graveside service to celebrate Dot’s life will be held at 2:00pm on Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at Alamance Memorial Park by Pastor Uston McKenzie of Pilgrim Baptist Church.  The family will receive friends from 12:30-1:30 at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at her home.

   In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to AuthoraCare Collective (Hospice) of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Rd., Burlington, NC 27215.
