Dorothy Boggs

Mrs. Dorothy Councilman Boggs, age 95, of Twin Lakes, passed away Sunday, January 26, 2014 after several months of failing health. A native of Alamance County, she was the daughter of the late Walter B. Councilman and the late Amanda Paylor "Mandy" Councilman and was married to the late Cylvester Alton "Speck" Boggs, who died in 1996. Mrs. Boggs was a career homemaker and attended Carolina Christian Church. She was a former member of the Faucette Fire Department Ladies Auxillary and was an avid reader. Mrs. Boggs is survived by her four sons, Harold Boggs and his wife, Kay, of Burlington, Ronnie Boggs and his wife, Sylvia, of Charlotte, Bill Boggs and his wife, Judy, of Kernersville and Mike Boggs of Burlington; nine grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren, five great great grandchildren; and two nieces. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; daughter-in-law, Becky Boggs; grandson, Ricky Boggs; a great great grandchild; and a sister, Louise Councilman Smith. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Thursday, January 30, 2014 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Dr. Dace Lewis. Interment will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:30 1:45 Thursday afternoon prior to the service at the funeral home. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Twin Lakes and to Dr. Richard Letvak for the excellent and loving care given to Mrs. Boggs.
