Dorothy Black

Mrs. Dorothy Mae Edwards Black, age 85, of Greensboro, passed away Monday, June 16, 2014 at the Hospice Home. Born in Randolph County, she was the daughter of the late Raymond Atlas Edwards and the late Viola Stinson Edwards. She was employed in the textile industry and was a former member of Glencoe Baptist Church. Dorothy is survived by her son, David Lynn Edwards and his wife, Joanne, of Greensboro; a granddaughter, Eunice Siarez Edwards; a brother, Wayne Edwards of Burlington; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, James Edwards, Aleen Roach and Carol Kernodle. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Thursday, June 19, 2014 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Franklin Bowman. Interment will follow at Gibsonville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Wednesday evening at the funeral home and other times at the home of Alvin and Tammy Lamm, 510 Rudd St., Burlington.
