Burlington - Dorothy Gerringer Belcher, age 91, of 275 Glen Raven Road passed away Friday, May 17, 2013 at her home. A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late Ray Belcher and daughter of the late Thurman Vestal and Bessie Cheek Gerringer. She retired from Glen Raven Mills after 41 years of service, was a member of Faith United Methodist Church, the Methodist Women and the Builders Sunday School Class. Survivors include her daughter, Peggy B. Joyce and husband Floyd of Burlington; son, Larry R. Belcher and wife Jerri of Graham; grandchildren, Howard Joyce and wife Milissa, Mark Joyce and wife Shea, Laurel Gantos and husband Chuck and Melinda Ramsey and husband Jason; great grandchildren, Morgan Joyce, Chandler Joyce, Abigail Joyce, C.J. Gantos, Cody Gantos, Dillon Gantos, Dustin Gantos, Savana Gantos, Kassie Gantos, Seth Harris and Camden Ramsey; great great grandchiid, Mason Gantos. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; son, Landon Lee Belcher; grandson, Todd Joyce; sister, Lucy Mae Coleman; brothers, J.T. Gerringer and Vestal Gerringer. Funeral services will held at 2:00pm Sunday, May 19, 2013 at Faith United Methodist Church by Rev. Bud Budzinski, pastor. Interment will follow in Shallow Ford Christian Church Cemetery. Mrs. Belcher will remain at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory until being taken to the church to lie in state 30 minutes prior to the funeral service. The family will receive friends at Lowe Funeral Home from 6-8pm Saturday and at her residence at other times. The family would like to thank Hospice, especially Lisa, Olivia, Ruby and Tina for the special care given their mother.
