Dorothea Rouse

Dorothea “Joy” Rouse passed away, Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at the age of 94. She is preceded in death by her husband, Warren C. Rouse, son, Nathan “Richard” Rouse and a sister, Joan Reynolds.

Joy and Warren met in October 18, 1940 at Flowers Hospital in New York at a dance while Joy was a nurse. They were married for 65 years when Warren passed away. Joy leaves behind her daughter, Robin Rouse Caviness and her husband, Cleve Caviness; their children, Darin and Leslie Caviness, Wesley Caviness and Lindsay Caviness. Joy’s great grandchildren, Bryson Caviness and Haley Caviness; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Joy sold real estate in Burlington for 40 some years and enjoyed gardening, traveling and especially trips to the beach.

A gathering will be held on Friday, August 20, 2021 from 4-6Pm at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory for family and friends.
