Dorman Porter

Dorman Franklin "Henry" Porter, 75, passed away Friday, August 27, 2010 at his residence. Mr. Porter was born April 2, 1935 in Alamance County to the late Frank Pembelton and Mamie Russell Porter. He worked and retired from Payne Oil Company. Survivors include his sisters, Ruth Arlene Lucas, Jo Anne West, Bonnie Stevens, Kathy Watts, Rebecca Van Horn ; brothers, Elmer "Pete" Porter, Wade "Kickie" Porter, Eugene "Gene" Porter, James David "Jimmy" Porter, Roger Porter, Larry Porter, and Doug Porter; many nieces and nephews; special care giver, Buster "Allen" Pinnix and his two birds, "Chip and Liz" and his dog, "Spike". Henry was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Porter, parents, and a sister, Elise Louise "Janie" Birchett. A graveside service will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday, August 30, 2010 at Alamance Memorial Park with the Rev. Mark Robertson officiating. The family will receive friends 11:30-12:30 p.m. prior to the service at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory.
