Doris Watkins

Doris Shaw Watkins, 91, of Dogwood Dr. passed away Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at Alamance Regional Medical Center. She was married to the late Herman Watkins and was born January 23, 1921 in Alamance County to the late Horace and Ida Ross Shaw. She had retired from Kayser-Roth after many years of service and then worked part time at Sears. She was a member of Shiloh Presbyterian Church. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Survivors include her daughters, Kay Moore of Burlington, Iris Ray Hawkins of Burlington, Betty David Ross of Elon, a son Richard Watkins of Ormond Beach, FL, 9 grandchildren, 12 great grand children and her two special pets Buddy and Misty. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and a brother Woodie Shaw. The funeral will be held 11:00 AM Thursday at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Reid Dickens. The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Wednesday at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory and other times at the home.
