Doris Shotwell Page, 91, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 25, 2016 at her home surrounded by family and friends. She was born September 6, 1924 to the late Eugene Thomas and Lora Turner Shotwell and was the wife of the late Calvin Coolidge Coot Page. Doris was a longtime member of Lakeview Community Church where she served in many capacities. She was a member of the Ruth Faucette Circle. She was a known for being a great cook and caretaker and embraced the tradition of spending Sunday afternoons with her family as she would cook and fellowship. She was a mother to many and will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Doris is survived by her son, Dale Page (Sue); daughter, Myra P. Cathey (Tony), all of Burlington; grandchildren, Jenna C. Bengel (Geoff), Katie Page, Blake Cathey; sisters, Annie Sue Carver (Oakie), Wray Long, Jean Marie Chambers; brother, Wayne Shotwell (Gai) and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, a sister, Francis Zimmerman and brothers, Thomas, Harry, Dick and Wade Shotwell. The family would like to offer a special thanks to her caregivers, Dot Hicks, Joyce Moore, Lorie Jones and Dianne Shotwell. A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held 2:00pm on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at Lakeview Community Church by Rev. Gerald Sanders and Rev. Reid Dickens with the burial to follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5-7pm at Lakeview Community Church and other times at her home. Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory is serving the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lakeview Community Church, 101 Boone Rd., Burlington, NC 27217 and to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Rd., Burlington, NC 27215.
