Doris Sandy Norris

Doris Sandy Norris, 89, went home to be with the Lord Friday, May 6, 2022 at Alamance Regional Medical Center. She was the wife to the late David Curtis Norris and the daughter of the late Willie (Bill) W. Sandy and Stella Mae Smith Sandy.

A native of Sampson County, she worked for Anadeen Hosiery and was a member of Christian Bible Fellowship. Doris enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking, early bird specials at yard sales and spending time with family. A great mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend who will be greatly missed.

Survivors include daughters, Linda N. Witherow and husband Tim, Sharon N. Harvey and husband Rodney; grandchildren, Laurin Underwood and husband James, Bekah Frye and husband Caleb; great grandchildren, Madison and Parker Underwood, Adalynn and Hudson Frye; brother, Paul W. Sandy; sister, Elsie S. Broome and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; son, Dwight D. Norris and brothers Bobby L. Sandy, Bill Sandy, Jr. and Charlie E. Sandy.

Funeral service will be held Monday at 2:00 PM May 9, 2022 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Bruce Readling, Rev. Randy Kidd and Rev. Brian Hill. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 – 1:45 prior to the service and at other times at the home.
