Doris Nance

Burlington-Doris Upchurch Nance, 85, began her final journey with her Lord and Savior on September 11, 2016. She was born the daughter of Saul and Ellen Upchurch in Laurel Springs, North Carolina, one of 11 children. Her passing completes the circle as her siblings all preceded her in death.
She is survived by her husband, Paul T. of Burlington, and they spent over 65 glorious years by each other's side. Also her son Greg and his wife Kathy of Burlington, her grandchildren: Ashlye Cahalan and her husband Liam of Gibsonville, Tucker and his wife Stevie of Baltimore, MD, Hogan and his wife Jessica of Whitsett, Nelson and his wife Shannon of Burlington, and her great-grandson, Palmer. Doris was a graduate of the 1949 class of Sparta High School. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Above all, Doris was devoted to her family and delighted in just being "Nama," and she will be greatly missed.
A service to celebrate her life will be held on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Pastor Ed Moschler and the entombment will follow at Alamance Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:45-1:45 pm at the funeral home and other times at the home of Greg and Kathy Nance.
