Doris Faulkner

Doris Huffman Faulkner, age 84, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at the Hospice Home. She was a native of Alamance County and the wife of the late Edgar Newton Faulkner. Doris was employed for over 18 years as an assistant manager with BonWorth. She was a longtime member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church and a member of the Worker's Sunday School Class. She also served as a Communion Steward. Doris was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother. Survivors include her daughter, Linda F. Smith and husband, Donald of Elon; grandchildren, Brian Smith and wife, Anna of Burlington and Karen Hoover and husband, George of Mebane; great grandchildren, Jessie Hoover, Jakob Hoover, Kanaan Hoover, Kalynn Hoover and Lauren McAdams; great great grandchildren, Anna Bella Goggins and Kinsley McAdams;. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, Jesse Van and Lorenna Jeffries Huffman; sister, Adeline Brogden and brothers, J. V. Huffman and Fred Huffman. A service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2013 at 2:00 pm at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Lee Pittard and assisted by Rev. Larry Lamberth. The family will receive friends from 12:30-1:45pm prior to the service and other times at the home of her daughter. The burial will follow the services at Pine Hill Cemetery.
