Doris Elliott

Burlington Doris Roberson Dodson Elliott, age 90, of 2209 Burch Bridge Rd., passed away Friday, January 20, 2012 at Hospice Home. A native of Granville County, she was the wife of the late Reginald Lester Dodson and daughter of the late Walter and Effie Webster Roberson. She was a retired seamstress in the textile industry, a member of Zion Christian Church and a member of the Women's Fellowship of the church. She enjoyed fishing, sewing and loved playing dominos with her friends. Survivors include her daughters, Dot Wright and her special friend Bobby Byrd and Joyce Smith and husband Billy all of Burlington; sisters, Ruth Jeffcoat of Oxford and Helen Parham of Mebane; grandchildren, Karen Boley and husband Kelly, Beth Coble and husband Tim, Brona Frizell, James Dodson and wife Fran, Angela Dodson, Larry Dodson, Jr. and wife Lea and Michael Dodson; 13 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, sons, Lester Edward Dodson and Larry Gene Dodson and 7 siblings. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Monday, January 23, 2012 in the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. George M. "Jack" Phillips, pastor of Zion Christian Church. Interment will follow in Alamance Memorial Park. Mrs. Elliott will remain at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory through the funeral service. The family will receive friends at Lowe Funeral Home from 4-6pm Sunday and other times at the home.
