Burlington Doris "Dot" Newsome Dvoracek, 80, formerly of Briarcliff Rd. passed away on Tuesday, August 12, 2008 at Alamance Regional Medical Center, surrounded by her immediate family. She was born in Tobaccoville, daughter of the late Rich and Geneva Newsome, and was married to the late Leonard Dvoracek. She was a member of Holly Hill Baptist Church where she had served on the church building committee, and was a former Clerk for the Mt. Zion Baptist Association. She was a former employee of Western Electric, and retired after 20 years of service as an administrative assistant for the Alamance-Burlington School System. She is survived by her daughter, Vicki Lynn Dvoracek of Franklin, TN; son, Douglas Kent Dvoracek and his wife Julia of Athens, GA; sisters, Jane Tuttle, and Pat Kapp and her husband Fred, all of King; brother, Richard Newsome and his wife Judy of Winston-Salem; sisters-in-law, Jean Newsome of King and Ida Newsome of Rock Hill, SC and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and two brothers, Randall and Robert Newsome. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, August 15, 2008 at Holly Hill Baptist Church by Rev. Jonathan Harrison with the graveside service to follow at 3:00 PM at First Christian Church Cemetery in King, NC.
