Doris Capps

Doris Tickle Capps, 80, a resident at the Homeplace and formerly of Deep Creek Church Rd. passed away Sunday, March 13, 2011 at Alamance Regional Medical Center. She was born in Guilford County to the late Frank and Betty Squires Tickle and was married to the late Jacob Capps. She was a homemaker and a member of Hopedale Christian Church. She is survived by her daughters, Janice C. Billy Brown, Phyllis J.R. Cartwright, and Shelia Andy Porterfield, all of Burlington; son-in-law, Mickey Gina Brame of Reidsville; grandchildren, Revonda Johnson, Mike Brown, Tammy Jim Sims, Ty Kelly Nelson and Nickey Brame; five great grandchildren; one great great grandchild and sisters, Virgie John Barsczcak and Annie Williams, both of Missouri. She was preceded in death by her husband, daughter, Venessa Capps Brame and parents. The graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at Alamance Memorial Park by Rev. Bob Cauthren. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Tuesday evening at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the daughter's home, Shelia Porterfield, 3422 Garden Rd., Burlington. Memorials may be made to Hopedale Christian Church, 909 Deep Creek Church Rd., Burlington, NC 27217 or to Alzheimer's Association, Western Carolina Chapter, 3800 Shamrock Dr., #999, Charlotte, NC 28215-3220. The family would like to say a special "thank you" to the staff, nurses and caregivers at Alamance Regional Medical Center, Vanessa Harris, a Care South nurse and the staff at the Homeplace for the wonderful care they gave to Mrs. Capps.
