Doris May Brooks, 74, formerly of 3148 Whitesell Dr. went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 13, 2006 at the Hospice Home after several years of failing health and two weeks critical illness. She was born in Alamance County, daughter of the late Ralph T. May and the late Grace Helen Finley May and was married to the late Thomas C. Brooks. She retired from Kayser-Roth after 20 years of service and was a member of Baptist Temple for over 30 years where she served as treasurer for the Shirley Keck Sunday School class. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Dee and Ron Manning of Burlington; son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Bessie Brooks of Haw River; grandchildren, Jason Prichard and his wife Beth, Brooke Manning, Allison Manning, Patrick Manning, Chris Brooks and his wife Kelli, Kristy Lashley and her husband Jason, Chris Lunsford and Cory Lunsford and three great grandchildren, Camden, Jack and Alex. The funeral will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, March 16, 2006 at Baptist Temple by Dr. Don Carter. Interment will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Wednesday evening at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the daughters home, Dee Manning, 3148 Whitesell Drive, Burlington.
