Donna Lee Greeson Coble, 85, entered the presence of her Lord on Sunday, November 24, 2019 after several years of failing health. She was born in Guilford County on May 1, 1934 to Clarence Dougan Greeson and Mabel Woodard Greeson. Donna was married to her late husband P.J. Coble for 67 years. They had four sons, Tim (Barbara) Coble, Tom (Debby) Coble, Tony (Sandy) Coble and Terry Coble, all from the Burlington area.
She is survived by two of her sons, Tony and Terry Coble; eight grandchildren, Melanie Lowe, Jenny Campbell, Misty Hedspeth, Bryan Coble, Brandon Coble, Ashley Barnhardt, Adam Coble and Jason Coble; Twenty-five great grandchildren, Ryan Coble, McKinnley Lowe Hinshaw, Madelyn, Micah, Jedediah, Avonlea and Khallie Lowe; Miriam, Hannah, George and William Campbell; Peter, Rosemary, Isaac, and Josephine Hedspeth; Emma and Ada Coble; Hallie, Kinsey and Kylie Barnhardt; Anna and Lila Coble; Norah and Eden Coble and an unborn grandson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sons, Tim and Tom Coble; two grandsons, Tony Coble, Jr. and Matt Coble and her sisters Nancy Greeson Smith and Linda Greeson Smith.
Donna was employed by P.J. Coble Construction Company for 50 Years as Office Manager. She was a member of Beacon Baptist Church and taught boys and girls in Sunday School for 43 years. Cooking was her passion, and she even published two cookbooks containing her favorite recipes. Some of the fondest memories of her children and grandchildren are gathering at her home every Sunday to enjoy the delicious spread she prepared for the family. Her passion was loving on and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and she was loved dearly by them all.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at Beacon Baptist Church, conducted by Pastor Michael Karns, Rev. Greg Barkman and Rev. Bob LaTour. Interment will follow in Alamance Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory from 5:00 until 7:00pm Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, contributions should be made to “A Heart’s Cry Children’s Ministry”. P.O. Box 17507, Raleigh, NC 27619, or to HeartsCryChildren.com. This ministry is a special needs orphanage that was built and operated by her granddaughter, Misty Coble Hedspeth and her husband, Matt in the country of Panama. Contributions may also be made to Hospice of Alamance-Caswell; 904 Chapel Hill Rd. Burlington, NC 27215.
The family would like thank the staff and aids of Home Care Providers for their exceptional care given to their mother.
