Burlington – Donna Sherry Baker, 74 went home to be with the Lord on Friday, September 6, 2019 at her home following several months of failing health. She was born in Lynn, MA on June 30, 1945 to the late Andrew and Mildred Sherry and was the wife of 39 years to David Wilke Baker of the home.
Donna was a member of Peoples Memorial Christian Church. She served as Librarian for the Piedmont Rescue Mission and retired from Southern Bell after many years of service. She loved cats and meticulously caring for her flower garden. Donna was an avid dancer and enjoyed many styles from disco to ballroom dancing. Most of all, she enjoyed traveling with David to numerous places during their marriage. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed.
Survivors include her husband, David, a daughter, Loren Jean Phipps and a granddaughter, Jessica Lyn Phipps. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Robert Sherry and a sister, Barbara Luzack.
A homegoing celebration will be held at 11am on Monday, September 9, 2019 at Peoples Memorial Christian Church by Pastor David Grinnell. Following the service, the family will receive friends at the home.
