Donald "Don" James Myles

Donald ‘Don’ James Myles passed peacefully on Wednesday, March 26, 2025 at Twin Lakes. He was born on August 18, 1939 in New Jersey to James and Ruth Myles. Don was lucky enough to have one great love, his late wife Lois. Together they raised two kids and built a life in Flemington, Hacketstown, and Belvidere, New Jersey. Don served our country as a member of the U.S Army and was proud of the time he gave to the military.  He spent his career as a systems analyst at Ethicon, a part of Johnson & Johnson, and was delighted to travel the world with Lois upon retirement.

Don had deep passion for three things: trains, photography and crispy (some would say scorched) hashbrowns. As a young father he and Lois would pile their two kids into the car and spend weekends ‘Rail-fanning’: chasing trains to photograph the big engines barreling down the tracks. Once retired, his zeal for capturing ‘the perfect shot’ lead him to become an award-winning photographer. He faithfully documented he and Lois’ travels, and his work can be seen hanging in local businesses and friends’ homes alike. Model trains were also a life-long passion of his and Don was an active member of the Twin Lakes Railroad Club. The spectacular, immersive train layout created and contributed to with his friends over the past eight years can currently be enjoyed by kids of all ages at the Twin Lakes campus.

Don was generous and caring for his family and friends. He leaves behind his daughter Cindy Strong, his son Scott Myles and wife Kim Myles, his grandchildren Ashley Allen and husband Nick Allen, and David Strong and his partner Kasey Price, his younger brother Douglas Myles and wife Bonnie Myles, and many, many friends and loved ones.

We know that he and Lois are hand in hand again, and he is at peace. May his potatoes always be extra-crispy.
