Donald Chapman

Donald Julius Chapman, 74 of Gibsonville passed away on Sunday, December 11, 2011 at Alamance Regional Medical Center. He was born in Alamance County to the late Cletus William and Maggie Hedrick Chapman and was married to Connie D. Chapman who survives. He was a former employee with Johnson Controls at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida. Donald proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother. He is survived by his wife of the home, sons, Michael Landon Chapman of Randleman, Donald Lee Norris of Merritt Island, FL; 4 grandsons, 4 step grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy Howell of Lexington, Naomi Ashley of Burlington and Esther Terrell of Gibsonville and a brother, James Lena Chapman of Burlington. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Ruth Gillispie. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Garry Yeatts with interment to follow in Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home and other times at the home.
