Donald Eugene Braxton

Donald Eugene (Don) Braxton of Gibsonville, NC passed away on Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at his home.  He was the only child of Scott Grimes Braxton and Lamar Carden Braxton, both deceased.   

Don is survived by his wife of 43 years, Margaret Ellington Braxton of the home, his son; Jeffrey Scott Rudd, daughter-in-law; Melanie and grandchildren; Taelor and Aaron Rudd all of Fuquay- Varina. 

Don graduated from the Burlington City Schools and then went on to attend both NC State University and UNC Chapel Hill.  He later retired from Lucent Technologies as a design draftsman, and enjoyed a second career as a General Contractor and Real Estate professional.  During that time he held offices of President of the Burlington/ Alamance Realtors® Association and President of the Burlington/ Alamance Homebuilders Association, as well as being named Realtor® of the Year and Homebuilder of the year. 

Don enjoyed the beach, shagging, snow skiing, his Harley Davidson and his many Corvettes. 

A Graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at 11:00AM in the Pine Hill Cemetery in Burlington, NC.
