Dolly Goldston

Burlington – Dolly Marie Goldston, 64, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 31, 2020, after a long and courageous battle with ovarian cancer.  She was born on November 10, 1956, in Burlington to Ralph Edward and Evelyn Toney Goldston, both deceased.

Dolly was a graduate of Walter M. Williams High School and Breadloaf Bible College and also studied at Bible Ministry Institute. She was employed by the Alamance County Sheriff’s Department and G & K Services.  Dolly was a member of Trinity Worship Center where she served as a devoted choir member for many years. She enjoyed doing life and sharing adventures with her close friends – Andrea, Elizabeth, Patsy, and Rosemary – in the “Flip Flops” Life Group.

Dolly was talented at many things and was referred to as a Jill-of-All-Trades by those who knew her well. She was a certified scuba diver and loved snorkeling and collecting seashells. Dolly shared her love of Jesus with many people and had a heart for the homeless and less fortunate. Her Christian faith sustained her through her illness until she reached her Heavenly home.

Dolly is survived by her brothers, Gerald Goldston of Burlington and Rev. Donnie Goldston (Wanda) of Whitsett; Aunt, Yvonne Toney Brown of Altamahaw; niece and nephews, Tammy, Donnie Jr., and PJ; two great nieces and a great nephew, loyal companion and caregiver, Rosemary Gardner, along with her adopted Gardner family; and her furbaby, Merritt.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Trinity Worship Center on Friday, January 8, 2021, at 3:00 pm, with the family receiving friends from 1:45 – 2:45 pm. The service will be livestreamed at https://www.facebook.com/twcburlington
