Dianne Goodman Shoffner, age 70, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, April 8, 2015. A native of Newport News, VA, she was the daughter of the late Coy Lee and Frances Fesperman Goodman. After graduation from Western Alamance High School in 1963, she was trained as a dental assistant at Alamance Community College and worked in dental medicine for several years. Later she worked at Copland Fabrics and retired in 2008 after many years of service. One of Dianne's greatest joys in life was the culinary arts. She taught cake decorating at Alamance Community College for 11 years, made wedding cakes for countless couples, catered many events as C&C Ltd., and was happiest when delivering a meal to a table surrounded by her family and friends. She was a member of Friedens Evangelical Lutheran Church where she served on the church council and taught Sunday School. She served on the Gibsonville Board of Aldermen and the Twin Lakes Board of Directors. She was a former member of the Carolina Jaguar Club, North Carolina Numismatic Association, Western Alamance Band Boosters, Gibsonville Business Professional Women and Elon College Rose Society. Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Mike; daughters, Paige Ottelin and husband Mark of Greensboro and Stephanie Smith and husband Doug of Greenville; sister Adelaide Stokes and husband Gene of Darlington, SC; grandchildren, Hannah Grace Smith and Ryan Alexander Smith. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Bobby Tim and Coy Lee, Jr. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Saturday, April 11, 2015 in Friedens Evangelical Lutheran Church by Rev. William Zima, pastor. Interment will follow in Friedens Church Cemetery. Mrs. Shoffner will remain at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory until being taken to the church to lie in state 30 minutes prior to the funeral service. The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall of the church following the committal service.
