Burlington – Dianne Gates Mann, 71, passed on Thursday, March 30, 2023 at the Hospice home surrounded by her family. She was a native of Alamance County and the wife of 51 years to Michael “Mike” Mann who survives. She was the daughter of the late Willie and Gracie Mae Wright Gates.
Dianne was employed with Alamance County for many years in IT and later retired from the City of Burlington after 21 years as IT operations Manager. Dainne was a quick learner who took pride in her working accomplishments. She was a 1971 graduate of Western Alamance High School and of the Baptist faith. Dianne devoted herself to her family and grandchildren. Dianne enjoyed going to her grandson, Nathan’s baseball games and traveling, especially to the beach. She was an avid gardener, growing both vegetables and flowers. She also spent many happy hours fishing and listening to country music.
She is survived by her husband, Michael “Mike” Mann of the home; daughters, Dodi M. Beamon and husband, Michael of Gibsonville and Bridgette M. Rose and husband, Johnathan of Burlington; 4 grandchildren, Oliva Rose, Nathan Rose, Piper Beamon and Quinn Beamon and her sister, Sherry Troxler of Burlington, She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Judy Cutler, Sandra Brown and June Allison and her brother, Danny Wayne Gates.
A Service to Celebrate her life will be held at 2:00PM, Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Reid Dickens with the burial to follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:30-1:45pm prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the home of her daughter, Dodi M. Beamon.
