Elon-Dewey Christine Phillippe Baldwin, age 96, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, February 1, 2016 at Liberty Commons. She was a native of Guilford County and the wife of the late Charles William Baldwin. Dewey retired after 30 years with the NC Department of Agriculture, with the ASCS office and was a school cafeteria manager for 10 years in Gibsonville. She was the oldest lady member of Friedens Lutheran Church where she was a member of the Hite Memorial Sunday School Class and the Womens Fellowship. She was a loving and devoted, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother. She is survived by her daughters, Patricia Pat Summers and husband, Ronnie of Gibsonville and Linda Starnes and husband, Steve of Graham; grandchildren, Kellie (Christian) Frey, Byron (Crystal) Summers, Phillip (Becky) Summers, David and Adam Baldwin; great grandchildren, Jessica, Amber, Hannah, Gage, Avery, Alaina, Bailey, Olivia and Sydney and numerous great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents, John Marshall and Flonnie Summers Phillippe; son, John William Baldwin; sister, Dixie Howerton and brothers, Fred and Frank Phillippe. A service to celebrate her life will be held on Thursday, February 4, 2016 at 3:00pm at Friedens Lutheran Church by Rev. Bill Zima and the burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends immediately following the committal service in the church fellowship hall.
