Devoe Columbus Euliss, 88, of Liberty died on Monday, December 26, 2011 at Alamance Regional Medical Center after a brief illness. He was born in Alamance County to the late William Alfred and Mattie Jane Coble Euliss and was married to the late Nancy Allison Euliss. He was owner/operator of Alamance Lumber Company and was a farmer. Devoe was a member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, the Methodist Men, Board of Trustees and the Cemetery Committee. He was also a member and past president of the Alamance Civitans. He is survived by his sons, Roger Layne Bobbie Euliss, Jimmy Debbie Euliss and Dennis Wayne Dawn Euliss all of Liberty; grandchildren, JaAnna Winslow, Angela Euliss and Jessica Euliss; great granddaughter, Brittany Moize; sister, Lucy Clapp of Liberty and a brother, Coble Euliss of Liberty. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, sisters, Grace Euliss, Nellie Linens, Mary Rierson, Barbara Johnson and brothers, Glenn, Homer and Boaz Euliss. The funeral will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church in Kimesville by Rev. Aaron Moss and Rev. E. Lee Ellis with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Wednesday evening at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the residence. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at Alamance Regional Medical Center and special thanks to Betty Garner and Carlene Shepard who took such good care of Mr. Euliss.
