Delores Hawk Wright

 

Delores Hawk Wright passed away at her home surrounded by her family on Tuesday, March 1, 2022. She was a native of Alamance County and the daughter of the late Jesse Hawk and Annie Gaynell Long Hawk. She was the wife of 15 years to the late Rick Wright.

     Delores retired from Earth Harvest Health Food, where she was owner and operator for 10 years. She was a dedicated and respected member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Burlington for 50 years. Delores loved animals especially her Poodles. Her love for them transitioned to her raising Poodles for 40 years.  Delores enjoyed shopping and cooking with her friends and family. She also enjoyed decorating. She will be most remembered for her loving nature and kindness to others. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

     She is survived by her sons, Jerry S. Murray, Jr and his companion Kim Rich and Christopher Chad Murray and daughter-in-law, Nesie Murray; grandchildren, Austin Colby Murray and Braxton Smith Murray; great grandson, Austin Colby Murray, Jr., sister, Donna Myers and a niece, Jayla Gardner. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rick Wright, parents, grandson, Colton Kyle Murray; sisters, Debra Lee Dunbar and Dot Toney and her brothers-in-law, Ernie Myers and Dan Toney.

     The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Amedisys for their kind and compassionate care for Delores during her illness.

     A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at a later date.

     Memorials may be made to the Amedisys Hospice, 2929 Crouse Lane Unit F, Burlington, NC 27215.
