Delores Henley

Ms. Delores Suggs Henley, age 72, peacefully went home to be with her Lord on Friday, February 5, 2021 surrounded by her family.

Born in Burlington, NC, she was the daughter of the late Andrew Lee Suggs, Jr. and Elsie Mae Wyrick Suggs. A six-year survivor of breast cancer, Ms. Henley enjoyed knitting hats and scarves to donate to the UNC Cancer Center as well as to other charitable organizations.  She enjoyed spending time not only with her family, but also with her many dear and close friends.  Attending church and sharing her faith with others was of utmost importance to her.

Along with her parents, Delores was predeceased by her brothers, Jerry Wayne Suggs and John Arland Suggs; step-mother Mae Goodson Suggs; and a very special friend, Norman Womack.

Ms. Henley is survived by her daughters: Lisa Zavodny and her husband, John of Lakeland, Florida, Amy Allen of Elon, and Tracie Brown of Burlington; her sister, Phyllis Williams and her husband, Lynn of Burlington; sisters-in-law Rose Suggs of Archdale and Brenda Suggs of Snow Camp; grandchildren: Ashton Conklin, Blake Brown, Andrea Allen, Brandon Brown, Tiffany Barlow, and Natalie White; and great grandchild, Kentley Franklin.

A private, family graveside will be held to honor Ms. Henley.
