Delores Foster

Burlington – Delores Ireland Foster, 77, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 22, 2021 at Alamance Regional Medical Center.  A native of Alamance County, she was born May 31, 1943 to the late James Henry and Juanita Chrismon Ireland.

Delores was an accomplished hairdresser for over 50 years.  She had a gift of making people laugh and never met a stranger.  She was a devout Christian and a wonderful, loving, caring mother and grandmother.

Survivors include her daughters, Sheila Lackey (Scott), Sonjia Cross (Chad); son, Dwayne Smithey; grandchildren, Amanda Lackey Powell (Thomas), Sierrah Cross, Tristan Cross, Chloe Cross, Matthew Smithey and Tyler Smithey; brothers, James Ireland, Jr. (Clara) and Ronald Ireland (Marlene).

A service to celebrate her life will be held 2:00pm on Monday, January 25, 2021 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Todd Martin.  Delores will be available for viewing one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.  You may also visit www.lowefuneralhome.com to live stream the service. The family will receive friends at her daughter, Sonjia’s home in Burlington.
