Della Genrty

Burlington, NC Della Poe Gentry, age 95, formerly of St. Mark's Church Road passed away on Wednesday, November 12, 2008. She was a native of Alamance County and the wife of the late Abb John Gentry. Della retired as the co-owner and operator of Gentry Grocery in Elon for many years. She was of the Baptist faith and devoted herself to her family. She was an avid sports fan and enjoyed shopping for antiques. She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Rebecca G. Latham of Burlington, Hilda G. Cheek and her husband, Wilkie of Elon; son and daughter-in-law, Joe R. Gentry and his wife, Donna of Asheboro; 6 grandchildren, 1 step grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 4 step great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, William F. and Allie Keck Poe; 8 brothers and sisters. The funeral service will be held on Friday, November 14, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Danny Miles and burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park.
