Dawn Celeste Qualls Benson, 55, lost her 5 year battle with breast cancer on Sunday, October 18, 2015 at her sons' home, surrounded by her family. She was born in Alamance County to Rainey Brooks Qualls, Jr. and Linda Dawn Beasley Kirby who both survives. Dawn was a homemaker and a member of Landmark Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and with the Landmark Trio. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend who will be missed dearly. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Terry "T.J." and Jamie Benson; grandchildren, Jaxon Benson, Faith Benson, Bracen Benson, Kaleb Long and Wesley Benson; mother and stepfather, Linda and David Kirby; father and stepmother, Rainey and Barbara Qualls, Jr.; paternal grandmother, Irene Poythress Qualls; siblings and spouses, Terri and Chris Ridgaway, Bud and Lisa Qualls, Jesse and Terri Qualls, Mark and Angie Wilson, Erin Macon, Bradley and Stacy Qualls, Jessica and Rodney Hester; canine companion, Lady Bell; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Donald Clyde and Dorothy Cates Beasley and paternal grandfather, Rev. Rainey Qualls, Sr. The funeral service will be held at 2:00pm Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Mark Wilson with burial to follow in Pine Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12 noon to 1:45pm Wednesday prior to the service and other times at the sons' home. Memorials may be made to Landmark Baptist Church, 171 W.
