David Wofford

Elon David Lee Wofford, 73, passed away Friday, May 31, 2013 at the Hospice Home after three months of failing health. He was born in Guilford County to the late Roy Baxter Wofford and the late Violet Bryson Wofford. David was a former employee with Copland Fabrics and retired from Jefferies Hosiery. He was of the Baptist Faith. Survivors include his sons, Tony Wofford of Elon, Derek Wofford and his wife Sharon of Burlington and Quinn Wofford and his wife Nana of Ellicott City, MD; grandsons, David Wofford, Jr., Joshua Wofford, Cody Wofford, Chase Wofford and Benjamin Wofford; great granddaughter, Amelia Wofford and one on the way; sister, Judy Thompson of Swepsonville. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Randall "Sid" Bryson, Roy "Doody" Wofford and Robert "Bob" Wofford. The funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Bennie Smith, with burial to follow in the Historic Providence United Church of Christ Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8pm Monday at the funeral home and other times at the residence. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Lowe Funeral Home c/o David Lee Wofford's Funeral Fund.
