David Ledford, Sr.

David Lee Ledford, Sr. age 73 passed away on Sunday, March 23, 2014 at Moses Cone Hospital. He was a native of Guilford County and the husband of 53 years to Mary Murph Ledford who survives. David retired from Carolina Steel after 40 years and he also served in the National Guard for 6 years. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife, Mary M. Ledford of the home; sons, David Lee Ledford, Jr. of Greensboro and Larry Eugene Ledford of the home; mother, Hazel Irene Wall Ledford of McLeansville; brother, Paul Eugene Ledford of McLeansville, NC and sisters, Dorothy Staley and husband, Graham and Helen May and husband, W.C. both of McLeansville. He was preceded in death by his father, Lee Gaither Ledford. A service to celebrate his life will be held on Thursday, March 27, 2014 at 4:00 pm at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Darrell Massey and the burial will follow at Gibsonville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Wednesday at the funeral home and other times at the home.
