David Gerald Ivey

David Gerald Ivey, 67, passed away after a lengthy battle with cancer on Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at his home. He was born on March 29, 1957 in Dillon, SC to the late Marion Lester Ivey and Annie Mae Gaddy Ivey, and was the husband to Faye Lynn Gaddy Ivey of the home.

David was co-owner and operator of Gaddy Modern Carolina Tree Service with his wife Faye. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, going to car shows and restoring classic cars, mostly Chevelle’s. David has always been known for his Chevelle’s and his talent in restoring classic cars for over 40 plus years for individuals. He was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend who will be dearly missed.

 Survivors other than his wife, Faye Ivey include his children, Jennifer Ivey, Brian Ivey and wife Brooke, William “Will” Mayes, Carson Mayes and Jacob Mayes; grandchildren, Jonathan Dixon, Chloe Ivey, Jaylynn Ivey and Kaleb Mayes; a sister, Jenny Lee and husband Tommy; his brother, Stevie Ivey and girlfriend, Heather Galbraith; and several nieces and nephews. David was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Barbara Jean Ivey.

 The memorial service to celebrate David’s life will be held at 4:00pm Monday, May 13, 2024 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Perry Hardison.  The family will receive friends following the service.
