Burlington - Darrell Lee Williamson, 73, passed away peacefully with the love of his life, Tammi, by his side on Monday, September 27th. Darrell was born in Asheboro, NC and lived an amazing life. Darrell served in the US Army and followed this with over 25 years of employment with Energizer Battery in the Warehouse and Trucking Departments. In his free time, Darrell loved to build race cars. He is known by many as a Champion Enduro Class Race Car Driver. After retirement, Darrell enjoyed traveling to attend both Street Rod Car Shows and Cruise-Ins as well as traveling to the Caribbean Islands. Even up to his final days, the only thing that gave him more joy was spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. He will be sorely missed.
Darrell attended Cross Generations Church in Graham, NC. Darrell wants everyone to know that prayers have been answered, he has been healed. He no longer is in his earthly body, but is rejoicing with his Lord and Savior.
Darrell is survived by his wife Tammi of 21 and a half years; son, Tim Williamson (Andy); daughters, Andrea Heath and Amanda Tucker (Les). He had 3 grandchildren, Brandon Heath, Zackary Tucker and Jacqueline Tucker.
Because of the COVID Pandemic, there will be no visitation. A Celebration of Darrell’s life will be on Saturday, October 2nd at 11am at People's Memorial Christian Church located at 247 N North Carolina Hwy 87, Burlington, NC 27217. The family requests face coverings be worn please.
