Burlington, NC – On Friday, April 23, 2021, Darrell Christopher Kellogg, loving husband and father of seven boys, suddenly went home to be with the Lord at the age of 40. Darrell was born on May 9, 1980, in Olean, NY to the late Harold Dean Jefferies Jr. and Sheree Lefkowitz Kellogg, who survives. He married his loving wife Cheryl Lynn Hicks Kellogg on October 1, 2009 and resided in Gibsonville, NC. He was an avid Buffalo Bills fan and a huge fan of St. Bonaventure Bonnies basketball team. Darrell had a passion for music and was a member of the Powerline Church where he served on the worship team as a singer and guitarist. He loved hiking, fishing, and most outdoor activities. Darrell graduated from Allegany-Limestone Highschool where he was active in sports and school activities. He received his Bachelors of Science Degree in Psychology from St. Bonaventure University and had a successful career in social and community services. Darrell’s greatest accomplishment, however, was being a devoted and loving husband and father.
Darrell is survived by his wife, Cheryl; sons Matthew Kellogg, David Tidd (Merranda), Steven Tidd (Nicolette), Brian Tidd (Maurica), Anthony Tidd (Megan), Daniel Tidd Jr. (Shannon), and Joshua Tidd (Brianna); 27 grandchildren; parents, Richard and Sheree Kellogg; brothers, Anthony Kellogg (Robin), Michael Kellogg (Sue); maternal grandmother, Sophia Lefkowitz; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and brothers and sisters in-law.
A celebration of Darrell’s life will be held at 6:00pm on Thursday, April 29, 2021, at Powerline Church by Rev. Jerry Gardner. The family will receive friends from 4:30-5:45 prior to the service at the Powerline Church, 701 Manning Ave., Elon, NC 27244. Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory is serving the Kellogg family.
