Darlene Gammon

Mebane –Darlene Dixon Wright Gammon, 73 went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 8, 2020. She was born in Guilford County to the late David Daniel and Delores Ellen Baker Dixon.

Darlene retired from Kayser Roth Hosiery and following retirement became a substitute teacher at Pleasant Grove Elementary for many years. She was a longtime member of Haw River United Methodist Church. She enjoyed dancing whether it be shagging or country and western. Darlene loved to grow flowers and decorate for holidays. She enjoyed most spending time with her family and friends.

Survivors include her daughters, Jamie Wright Browning of Elon and Sheena Jones and husband, Jamie of Elon; granddaughter, Isabelle Lily Browning of Elon; sister, Ruth Jenness Williams of Mebane and a special friend, Jesse Decker of Mebane. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, James Thomas Wright and Oscar William Gammon, Jr.; sister, Wanda Dixon Banther and a special friend, Willie Dace Faulkner.

A private service for the family will be held.
