Darcy Jean Dodson, a beloved mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully on November 24, 2024, at her residence, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. Born on September 30, 1953, Darcy was known for her nurturing spirit and her deep affection for her family, especially her granddaughter, Annabelle Dodson.
Darcy embraced life with a warmth that captivated everyone she met. She found joy in simple pleasures, such as bird watching and tending to her garden, where she cultivated not just plants, but also beautiful moments shared with family and friends.
A devoted mother, Darcy was incredibly proud of her only son, James Edward Dodson, and his wife, Fran. Their bond was a source of strength and happiness for her, filled with laughter and unconditional support. Darcy's role as a grandmother to Annabelle was one of her greatest joys; she loved deeply and devoted herself to nurturing this special relationship.
Darcy’s connections extended beyond her immediate family. She was the cherished sister to Ray Sharpe, Terry Satterfield, and Vicki Clark, and her warm presence will be profoundly missed by her brothers and sister. As an aunt, she was adored by her nieces and nephews, whose lives she touched with her kindness and gentle guidance.
Darcy is reunited in spirit with her loving parents, Joan Gray Cheek and James Bernell Satterfield, who provided her with a foundation of love that she carried throughout her life.
A memorial service celebrating Darcy’s life will be held at 11:00am Friday, November 29, 2024 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Reid Dickens. The family will receive friends following the service.
